Cup, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, cylindrical sides tapering inwards towards the base, scrolled loop handle; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the front of the exterior body of the cup a shield outlined in pink and with to the centre a flower-patterned yellow ground, against this is painted in black monochrome the head and shoulders bust of a female figure enclosed by a wreath of green leaves, to the top of the shield an egg with a crown on top, the shield is draped with leafy festoons supported to either side by ram's heads in black monochrome holding gilt rings, to the rest of the exterior sides of the cup are two miniature floral sprigs in gilt, a gilt edge to the lip-rim, the handle picked out in gilt. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, curving sides; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a shield as on the cup, but the leafy festoons are supported by grotesque human faces, around the sides of the well are scattered miniature floral and foliate sprigs in gilt, a gilt edge to the rim.
