Pot-pourri vase and cover, earthenware, standing on a low pedestal foot, ovoid body, surmounted by a narrow cylindrical neck containing the cover, perforated with a pattern of crescents, ovals and lozenges, radiating around the disc finial at the centre; transfer printed in underglaze red with groupings of shells within floral and foliate settings, issuing from ornate scrolling ribbons; heart and loop dentil border to neck and to outer rim of cover, floral motif to upper side of finial, broad black banding to foot rim, one thin, one broad black band at shoulder.
