Two men (rescuers), each with early electric safety handlamps, seen holding a cage containing the "canary that was carried down the mine to test the air" after the Universal Colliery explosion at Senghenydd on Tuesday, 14th October, 1913. Real photograph postcard. Unused. No. 10 of a series.

Mr Charles Adams (2018.104) is on the left, and the man on the right is his brother Albert Adams.
