Obverse. 14th Earl of Leicester, Robert Dudley in plate armour with plumed helmet, on a horse riding to dexter, his right hand holding his sword aloft and over his head. Horse caparisoned, on the trappings: to the fore, a bear statant surrounded by the Garter, and to the rear: a lion passant within the collar of the Order of St Michael and St George, the whole surrounded by a collar of the same order. No legend, but an ornamental border of pearls in oval links.
