Cardiff Gas Light & Coke Co. works, photograph
Photograph shows the part of the plant concerned with the purification of the gas and the recovery of tar. On the left are the tall condensers, where the gas is cooled and some of the tar is removed, and beyond them the washers for removing ammonia; on the right are the purifiers in which the gas is freed from sulphur compounds.
