Lathe
Treadle lathe, 4ft between centres. Metal turning, thread cutting, center lathe with a flat bed (1370 mm long). Treadle operated, treadle driveshaft has a balanced flywheel at tailstock end (r. hand) and is connected to the two treadle levers by leather belts. The driveshaft has a three step pulley which drives the headstock pulley via a flat canvas belt. The headstock is fitted with back gearing and the large gear of the mandrel has provision for being used as a dividing head, this is possibly a later modification. The headstock drives the leadscrew via changewheels (there are a set mounted on a board Ref. No. 9.8/2), the leadscrew is reversible via tumbler gears and provides power feed for the saddle. A 125 mm dia. 3-jaw chuck fitted. Colour - green. Paintwork not original.
