Roman copper alloy Colchester B brooch
Though considerably damaged, the brooch is a typical example. The central rib below the skeuomorph of the forward chord hook of the parent type appears to have been plain. The bow tapers slightly but the foot remains quite broad and is plain, a feature of the type. There is rudimentary piercing of the catchplate.
