Photograph of exterior of Plas Newydd, Llangollen, with Castel Dinas Bran in background. Mounted on card.

Plas Newydd was the home of the Ladies of Llangollen, Lady Eleanor Butler and Sarah Ponsonby. They grew up in Ireland, and in 1778 fled to Wales when their families tried to separate them. They lived at Plas Newydd for nearly 50 years until their deaths in 1829 and 1831.
