Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A Welsh Folk Museum Answer Book, 1974, received from Mrs Mary Davies, Llanbrynmair, containing notes on dialectology from the Llanbrynmair area and rural customs from Pennant, Llanbrynmair that were used at the end of the nineteenth and beggining of the twentieth centuries. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
