Hunter and Son (Cutler)

used for honing knives before and during the killing and butchering of a pig; long hone tapering to a rounded end; fine grooves along the length of the steel; brass and ebony handle; two small rings on the shaft decorated with grooves; ring at the end of the handle for hanging on a hook; the design and materials suggest it may have been part of a set of food preparation or eating utensils used in an affluent household before being used during pig butchering
