Shawl
Red shawl worn by Susanna Berrington Gruffydd Richards of Ty'r Eglwys, Llanover. She was a harpist to Lady Llanover, after her father Thomas Gruffydd.
Bright red triangular shawl with fringes along its two shorter sides. Long diagonal side is cut on the bias and is unfinished. Made from 2/2 twill-woven wool. Fringe is 2-ply, Z-spun (each strand consists of eight S-spun singles yarns). The wool has been dyed after it was woven.
