Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Welsh Folk Museum Answer Book, 1958 containing notes written in Welsh by John Williams Jones, originally from Ceio, Carmarthenshire but describing the area of Cellan, Lampeter. He includes information about peat cutting in the parish in around 1914 and also includes earlier memories of the parish from local inhabitants. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum in 1958 to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
