Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Quilted patchwork bedcover, mid-to-late 19th century. From Pontantwn Farm, near Carmarthen. Made from a range of printed dress cottons arranged haphazardly in triangles, squares and rectangles, smaller pieces in the centre and larger pieces further out towards the edges. Cream cotton twill backing printed with fine stripes in blue and grey, made from two sections which are joined together by a central, vertical seam. Carded wool filling. Mostly hand stitched using white, s-twist thread with some machine stitches around the edge.
