Tynewydd Colliery, memorial poem
Typewritten translation of the Welsh poem on the Tynewydd Inundation Disaster, 1877, written by George Ablett, one of the rescuers awarded a Bronze Albert Medal for his bravery. Title of poem - Verses on the Disaster that occured when the Ty-newydd Pit was flooded - April 11, 1877. Free translation is by Megan Lloyd-Ellis, 1 June, 1881.
