Concertina book with raw edges and depicitions of women in traditional Indian miniature painting style. Concieved as a tribute to the artist's maternal grandmother, her life spent as an indentured labourer in South Africa, and the women that shared her experience. Concertina shape speaks to the gaps in these histories, the work needed to uncover the names and stories of the women that lived it and, importantly, is something personal that can be held close to the chest and carried with you.
