T. Gwynn Jones (1871-1949) was a hugely productive and influential scholar and academic in Welsh literature: he was a prolific poet, journalist, novelist, essayist, literary judge, biographer and translator. During his career, he published hundreds, if not thousands of different works, however he is primarily remembered for his poetic work. He was also ahead of his time in experimenting with forms of poetry, and developed the vers libre gynganeddol, which can be seen in his last volume, Y Dwymyn (1944).
