Cabinet cup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain; cup standing on three paw feet, slightly tapered cylindrical shape with flared lip; high closed scroll handle, with embossed rosette disk, thumb spur, and mask terminal; saucer standing on a foot rim curving into flared spreading sides; cup painted in monochrome olive-purple enamel, with a youth in contemporary dress sitting against a tree, reading, with a rosebush at his feet; gilt scrolls and ivy tendrils either side of the handle; gilt border inside cup and saucer lip; gilt feet and handle, gilt rim and cup and saucer lips.
