Dinner plate, earthenware, eight notched rim, slightly lobed, printed in underglaze pale blue with the 'Damask Border' pattern (named on reverse); border pattern formed of a series of vignettes within a complex scroll-edged semi-circular cartouches, of a man in a sledge pulled by reindeer, alternating with a carrying a bow accompanied by a dog; an all-over damask pattern to the inner rim, cavetto and outer well; central vignette within a border of C scrolls of two figures in a Russian? landscape with a tree to the right and building behind to the left.
