Early Medieval human remains
These are remains from the Inhumation Burial of a Younger Middle Adult (25-35 years) who was Female The remains are moderately preserved with around 50% remaining.
She was buried in an extended supine position in a simple grave oriented West-East. SK269 lies next to and parralel with SK268, from the slightly earlier phase H. The skull of SK269 is turned to the right, facing this individual, this may not be deliberate and could be the result of a later disturbance to the grave.
The burial is from Phase D: 529-709 AD Radiocarbon dating placed this individual in the range 601-644 cal AD.
Her teeth had Calculus, Caries and Periodontal Disease Her bones showed she had Osteochondritis.
