Excavation at Hafod foundry, photograph
Archaeological excavation at Hafod foundry, Swansea, 21 August 2015. Looking ENE at a crane base adjoining deep casting pit (shown in 2015.80/8) on its NE side. The mounting is formed from a pair of Barlow rails bolted or riveted together. Other probable crane bases were exposed both inside and outside the foundry buildings but this was the most distinctive example.
