Egg-cup stand
Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Egg cup stand, standing on a spreading, rounded, ovoid foot and stem, the upper body, flat, oval, with an up-turned rim and pierced for six egg cups; in the centre, rising from a spreading ovoid foot, moulded with anthemions, a vertical balustered column, terminating in an upright heart shaped handle; transfer printed in underglaze blue, the upper body with the 'swan' pattern, the foot with floral motifs with dentilled borders interspersed with ornately scrolled floral motifs to the outer rim of the upper body and to the foot rim.
