Jug, hard-paste porcelain, rounded foot-rim, pear-shaped ogee body and cylindrical neck, beak spout with foliate moulding to the underside, double intertwined handle with spreading leaves at the terminals, round domed cover with to the top a finial modelled in the form of a flower head with stem and leaves; to either side of the exterior body an oval panel finely painted in black monochrome against a faint yellow ground with riverside landscapes with shipping and buildings, the panels enclosed by gilt bands entwined by polychrome ribbon-tied floral garlands, a similar gilt band with ribbon-tied garland encloses a faint yellow ground to top of the cover, scattered polychrome floral sprigs around the rest of the exterior body and the top of the cover, gilt dentil edges to the lip-rim of the jug and the rim of the cover, the spout and handle picked out in gilt, the finial picked out in puce and gilt. A narrow crack to one side of the body of the jug.
