Figure group of man and girl, white earthenware with a very crackled blue grey glaze, standing on a irregular oval base painted green except for two curving white swags. Man in eighteenth century dress of black shoes, white stockings, loose orange britches, long underglaze black frock coat with gilt detailing, white waistoat with buttons and fastening outlined in red and decorated with red clumps of dots, broad collared shirt and white necktie, naturalistically painted face, and a long white powdered wig. Man standing holding a balck tricorn hat in right hand and resting right arm against an urn, urn placed on a grey pillar with a black and grey spade and a black and grey pickaxe leaning against it, man with left hand gently embracing the head of a small girl, who is dressed in black shoes, white socks, knee length green full skirt, orange cloak, broad white collar outlined in gilt, naturalistically painted face, brown hair under a high pink hat, and is standing on a small green hillock.
