Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Child marriages were common during this period, and Anne Mutton was just twelve when she married Robert Davies of Gwysaney. Their portraits were painted by the artist T. Leigh for Anne's family, the Muttons. He also produced almost identical versions to hang at the Davies family home in Flintshire. Leigh was one of the few artists working in north Wales at this time, but we know very little about him.
