Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A worked piece of roundwood charred over its entire surface. No bark is present bu the pith is central and the outside of the item may represent the bark edge. Both ends have slightly bevelled edges and one end face is very smooth, possibly due to wear. The other end displays several lateral cut marks towards one edge and a concave dished area in the middle with a smooth polished surface.
Site Name: Goldcliff East, Newport: Gwent
Notes: recovered from the interface between the olds landsurface and esturine sediment.
