Jug, pearlware, globular body flaring outwards at the foot. cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, angular scrolled handle; to the front of the exterior body the stencilled inscription "Edward Jones / When this you see remember me / And keep me in your mind / Let all the world say what they will / Speak of me as you find / 1808" in silver lustre with a spray of silver lustre foliage below, to one side of the exterior body a transfer-printed scene in red-brown showing a cathedral surrounded by houses in a rural landscape with figures with guns and dogs in the foreground, below the scene is the inscription "A VIEW OF SALISBURY", the scene enclosed by a circular silver lustre band, to the other side of the body is crudely painted in brown and orange enamels and silver lustre a view of an early coal mine with figures operating a horse-powered winding mechanism and a horse-drawn cart in the foreground, around the exterior neck a border of conventional green leaves and red berries issuing from a waving stem between two orange bands, silver lustre bands around the lower body, shoulder and exterior lip-rim, a pattern of silver lustre dashes to the underside of the spout and to the handle, the spout and handle edged in silver lustre, the foot-rim and lip-rim chipped.
