Vase and plinth, black basalt stoneware moulded with white jasperware relief, urn-shaped vase on a square base with an overhanging rim and two side loop handles, square-shaped plinth with high sides and with a spreading base that has flattened corners; the body of the vase is decorated with a continuous scene of figures in classical dress in various poses, the top and bottom rims and the handles of the vase are decorated with borders of relief moulded flowers and leaves, the sides of the base and the plinth are banded with flower motifs in white relief, the top four corners of the plinth are each relief moulded with ram's heads and the top rim is banded with a border of ovals with cross-hatched surfaces in white relief, the bottom corners of the plinth are each relief moulded with winged lions in between which are moulded four ornamental flower sprays, the side corners of the plinth are decorated with flower motifs in white relief between two bands of beads.
