Dish, soap, and cover
Soap dish, earthenware, oblong shape with rounded slightly spreading foot-rim, bulbous sides and slightly flaring lip-rim, oblong domed cover, to the top of the cover a vertical loop handle with raised spurs to either end, foliate moulding along its length and moulded leaves to either terminal; transfer-printed in blue with to the top of the cover a Chinese-style scene showing in the foreground an oriental fence from which issues a large spray of oriental flowers and foliage and a geometric pattern of diamond shapes, in the background pagodas on an island and further islands with rocks and trees, border to the rim of the cover of a geometric scroll pattern, wide border to the exterior sides of the dish of sprays of oriental flowers, foliate scolls and geometric designs with a wide band of a stippled blue ground, flower heads and a geometric design to the handle of the cover.
