Cream or sauce tureen, cover and stand, soft-paste porcelain, 'duck egg' type with greenish translucency, slight green tinge to the glaze. Tureen, round, on a turned pedestal foot, two up-turned spindle handles with moulded florets; painted on each side with a vertical-woven basket, overflowing with garden flowers, on a background of earth, grass and flowering plants, and with a spray of three pink roses under each handle; border of scrolled and seeded gilding on shoulders; gilt dentil border at foot, shoulders and lip, and handles partly gilded. Flat-topped conical cover, with aperture for a ladle, beaded below a pineapple finial; painted with three sprays of two pink roses below border of scrolled and seeded gilding; dentil gilt line to edge and finial partly gilded. Stand, round, with recessed centre, on shallow foot rim; painted in the centre with a similar basket of garden flowers; the rim painted with two insects, and with a band of scrolled and seeded gilding and gilt dentil border.
