THETIS (4123gt) : Built 1930 by Wm. Gray & Co., Sunderland, for Elias E. Hadjilias, Athens. 1932 – Ownership transferred to Nereus Steam Navigation Co., Athens, managed by E.E. Hadjilias. 1955 – Sold to A. Ramirez Escudero, Costa Rica, and renamed ELY. She collided with another vessel in the English Channel (or the North Sea!) on 30th January 1959 and was abandoned. Salved and towed to Dunkirk where she ”capsized at the pier”. She was broken up in situ over the next few years. (info : - Sunderland site )
