Chocolate pot, hard-paste porcelain, rounded slightly spreading foot-rim, cylindrical body, rounded shoulder, short cylindrical lip-rim, to the front of the body a short curving spout with foliate moulding to the upperside and underside, to one side of the body a short porcelain handle protrudes at almost rightangles, to the end of this handle a longer turned wooden handle is attached by a metal ring, foliate moulding around the base of the handle, round cover with curving sides and flat top, to the centre of the cover is a large round aperture with a smaller hole to one side, a thin metal loop handle to the top of the cover, to the underside of the cover a metal band with metal loops which allows the cover to fit securely onto the chocolate pot; painted in polychrome enamels with around the exterior sides of the chocolate pot and the top of the cover groups of fruit and leafy sprigs, chocolate lines around the shoulder of the chocolate pot and the rim and the top of the cover and around the apertures on the cover, the spout and handle on the chocolate pot picked out in puce, the enamels slightly worn in places.
