JOHN, Gwen
(Artist)
The sitter is an artist and close friend of Gwen John. They met around 1908 when John is thought to have modelled for Isabel Bowser. This portrait is probably based on a photograph. John was deeply saddened by Isabel Bowser's death in 1919.
