Groats Pudding

A traditional dish served with goose for Christmas dinner.

Rhyd-y-main, Merioneth.

The Recipe

You will need

  • oat groats
  • water
  • black treacle

Method

  1. Boil a few cupfuls of groats in water with a little black treacle. 
  2. When soft, drain the groats, and pour into a large dish. 
  3. Add more treacle, to taste, whilst warm.
