Natur am Byth Webinars

A biologist takes a sample from a lake in front of green and rocky mountains in Cwm Caseg.

Join our natural history curators for a set of special webinars about some of Wales’ most rarely seen wild animals and plants.

Learn about how and where these species can be found and recognised, how they are connected to people, and what is being done to help save them from extinction.

Using photos and video from the Museum and from outdoor habitats, our curators take you on a “virtual field trip” revealing what makes each species unique, and what it takes to protect them.

They include wildlife from rural places, nature reserves, and national parks in all parts of Wales.

The videos deliberately showcase species that are particularly rare, less widely known, and difficult to recognize. However, they include lots of more general wildlife identification tips along the way!

The webinars were produced for Natur am Byth, a Wales-wide Green Recovery partnership uniting nine conservation organisations with Natural Resources Wales.

Thanks to players of the National Lottery, Natur am Byth is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and supported by Natural Resources Wales, Welsh Government and other funders listed on their programme website.
