Venue Hire at Big Pit National Coal Museum

Big Pit combines the heritage of Welsh coal mining with excellent facilities and a warm Valleys welcome. Located in the town of Blaenafon, the National Coal Museum is available to hire for your events.

For office away days, meetings or presentations we’d recommend our Kearsley Room, a flexible space located at the historic Pithead Baths with capacity for 20 in boardroom style or 60 theatre-style, or, alternatively, the Coity Room, suitable for small conferences with capacity for up to 40 in boardroom style or 90 theatre-style.

Our original miners’ canteen is also available for hire for working lunches and can accommodate up to 50. Our catering service can also supply buffet lunches and refreshments to suit your event schedule.

Whilst hosting your event with us why not also enjoy activities above and below ground. Take a multi-media tour of a modern coal mine in the Mining Galleries, exhibitions in the Pithead Baths and historic colliery buildings. Or join a Miner Guide and book an underground tour for you and your guests, to discover the history beneath this unique venue.
