I think Ivor Pratt was my great grandfather related to a number of younger Pratt’s who worked in Fernhill -Jack,will, Fank and the younger ones- Cyril and Benny.Can remember seeing the engine room with my Grandfather Will who was the winder in the 5-s?/

Brings back memories when I worked on this engine as an apprentice and then as a fitter. Remember this engine hauling up a cylindrical tank holding about 5000 gallons a lift on one side cage on the other rope.Engine drivers, Tom Cox, Albert Hole, Mr Rhys.
The foreman fitter was Ivor Pratt, great old character.
