Big Pit celebrates its best ever season

Six months after officially re-opening, Big Pit: National Mining Museum of Wales is celebrating its best season ever, with over 120,000 visitors at the site so far this season - a 25% increase on the same period last year.

The Roman Legion of Caerleon, the Second Augustan Legion, celebrates its 2000th birthday on 23 September 2004, and the Roman Legionary Museum will be on hand to mark this momentous occasion, with a lecture given by noted Roman archaeologist, Mark Hassall.
