Nine treasure finds dating from the medieval and post-medieval periods have today (Monday March 29^th) been declared treasure by the Assistant Coroner for South Wales Central, Mr Thomas Atherton. The objects were all discovered by metal detectorists and include three gold and silver coin hoards, finger rings and personal items owned by wealthy members of Welsh society from the 9^th to the 17^th centuries AD.

We are currently inviting proposals for the fifth edition of Cynfas, Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales’s digital magazine, with the theme of Cynefin/Habitat. We are interested in hearing from artists, writers and creatives from all over Wales, and welcome proposals for Welsh, English and bilingual texts.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales has appointed Rural Office for Architecture to lead the work to develop a concept masterplan that will inform the future transformation of National Museum Cardiff, based in the centre of Cardiff, into a cultural and creative hub for the nation.
