St Fagans Castle is a Grade 1 listed building and one of the finest Elizabethan manor houses in Wales.
The castle’s roof has reached the end of its life, and we’re embarking on an ambitious project to replace it in its entirety thanks to funding from Welsh Government.
Starting in January 2026, the project will see a large scaffolding erected on all sides of the Castle. While the initial scaffolding work takes place, the Castle will be closed to the public, but we hope to welcome visitors back inside from late spring.
The Castle roof project is estimated to take two years to complete with the new roof expected to be unveiled in 2027.
