St Fagans Castle is a Grade 1 listed building and one of the finest Elizabethan manor houses in Wales.
The castle’s roof has reached the end of its life, and we’re embarking on an ambitious project to replace it in its entirety thanks to funding from Welsh Government.
Large scaffolding has been erected on all sides of the Castle, and the roof is now fully enclosed to allow renovation work to begin. Downstairs areas of the Castle have now reopened to visitors including the Castle Hall, kitchen and Butler’s Pantry.
The Castle roof project is estimated to take two years to complete with the new roof expected to be unveiled in 2027.
