Event:Step Into Welsh Through Play, Movement and Stories

St Fagans National Museum of History

Take your first steps into the Welsh language with Early Years Wales as we explore movement, play, story telling and much more at St Fagans National Museum of History.

These one hour sessions are geared towards children of all ages, with dedicated sessions for children 6 weeks to 12 months, and 12 months and up and will make use of St Fagans National Museum of History to celebrate Wales' unique language, heritage and culture.

Book Tickets 

Session 1: 6 weeks to 12 months (10.30am - 11.30am)  
Session 2: 12 months+ (12pm - 1pm)

Language: The sessions will be delivered in English but with a strong focus on introducing Welsh vocabulary and phrases you can use at home with your child through play and movement.

Snack: A healthy snack and drink will be available for children and tea and coffee will be available for parents during the session.

Opening Hours

From 4 November until 28 February 2025, we will be open 10am-4pm every day.

Christmas and New Year: Closed from 2pm on 23 December. Closed 24 - 26 and 1 January. 

Closed 8 January 2025 for staff training. 

Parking

If you are driving to St Fagans, you will have to pay for parking. The cost is £7 per day and can be paid by cash or card. FREE for disabled badge holders and motorbikes. £30 yearly ticket in advance. This charge is for parking only – entry to the Museum remains free.

Eat, drink, shop

  • Our cafes and restaurant will be open during your visit. 
  • The Museum shop will be open during your visit.
  • You are welcome to bring a picnic to the Museum.
