St Fagans National Museum of History is located 4 miles west of Cardiff City Centre, just off the A4232.

By Car

If you are arriving by car you MUST purchase a car parking ticket in advance to gain access to the site (£6 per day. FREE for disabled badge holders and motorbikes) £30 yearly ticket. You can tell us how many people are travelling to the museum when you book your ticket.

Blue badge ticket

You do not have to pay for car parking if you have a blue badge. However, to manage our visitor capacity you MUST tell us if you are travelling by car to gain access to the site. You can tell us how many people are travelling to the museum when you book your ticket.

Bike Ticket

We have plenty of bike rack space, but to manage our visitor capacity you MUST tell us if you are travelling by bike to gain access to the site. Please indicate the number of free entry tickets required when you book your ticket.

Walk-in Ticket

For safety reasons we have limited visitor capacity on site, so you must have a valid free entry ticket, even if you are walking in. Please note, entry is via the main entrance only – you will not be able to come in through the back entrance (access from St Fagans village).

By Bus

Buses operate between Cardiff City and St Fagans National Museum of History throughout the year:

  • Easyway 32A – stops in the main car park of the Museum.
  • 320 – stops at St Fagans village.
  • 321 – stops at St Fagans village.

The bus ride between the Museum and Cardiff city centre is approximately 25 minutes.

The nearest rail station is Waungron Park located 2 miles from St Fagans. Services are operated by Arriva Trains Wales. Waungron Park Station is located next to the main bus route to St Fagans. Visit Traveline Cymru to plan your journey.
