Halloween is drawing near, and it’s time to bring your little goblins and ghouls to the Museum for a night of FRIGHT-full family fun! Brace yourselves for a spooktacular after-dark event that's not to be missed...
- Make your way around the Museum to find our host of ghostly guests. They’re straight out of the weirdest pages of Welsh folklore - are you brave enough to discover who’s hiding where?
- Each night the Wicker Man will burn.
- Celebrate as summer turns to winter and make a wish as the sparks fly high!
- Drop in workshops for creepy crafts, build a spell with ancient natural magic, make your own mini wicker man and more...
- Discover eerie Welsh superstitions, stories and age-old Winter's Eve traditions that will send shivers down your spine!
- Take a walk through an immersive spooky scare run. Enter if you dare! *
- Come dressed to impressed in creepy costumes and dance the night away at the Haunted House disco.
- Learn about the Wicker Man at the Cockpit. Make a mini wicker man to burn during the finale.
- Treat your taste buds to a fang-tastic feast at the street food area & the Museum's food and drink outlets.
- Bring cash for enjoyment at the Traditional Fairground and the Makers Market.
*Please note: the scare run activity may be particularly frightening for some children as it involves scare actors and loud noises. Actors will tailor the level of scare for each child. Entry to this activity should be decided by the supervising adult. The scare run activity is in a designated area that can be avoided if you do not wish to participate.
Accessibility
- Please be advised that this event will feature the use of effect/strobe lighting, intense sound effects, haze and smoke machines throughout. Please contact us by emailing events@museumwales.ac.uk before booking your tickets for more information.
- Only assistance dogs are permitted on site for this event.
- The event is mostly held outdoors and will involve a lot of walking. Most paths around the Museum are smooth tarmac or concrete. Please be aware that some areas of the event are on grassy areas and the ground is quite uneven in places.
- Wheelchair access is possible to most parts of the site. However, due to the historic nature of some of the buildings, some access may be difficult.

Important Information
- All tickets must be purchased in advance. Spaces are limited and we expect tickets to sell out quickly.
- All tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event. Please ensure that you are 100% happy with your choices before booking.
- Your ticket price includes free parking after 4.30pm. Parking is very limited at St Fagans, please car share where possible.
- The event and its activities are suitable for children aged 5+. This is a recommended age guidance - younger children are welcome to attend at your discretion. Infants under 2 years old are welcome to attend, but will require a free infant ticket and will not be able to participate in craft activities. All children must be accompanies by an adult, at all times.
- Prams and pushchairs are permitted on site but cannot be taken into the historic buildings, and must be left outside.
- Weather-appropriate clothing should be worn. You will be required to wait outside until doors open at 5.30pm and you may have to wait outside the buildings for entry to activities and workshops.
- You will receive an order confirmation at the time of booking.
- You will receive a copy of the Halloween Site Map and Character Spotting Sheet on arrival.
