Event:Diwali Mela 20th Celebration
This year marks a special milestone for us! 20 years of Diwali celebrations in partnership with the Hindu Cultural Association Wales, India Centre Cardiff.
Diwali Mela, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a time to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Our Diwali Mela brings this spirit to life with a rich mix of colour, music, flavour, and joy. An invitation to all communities to come together and celebrate one of the most cherished festivals in the Hindu calendar.
Join us as we honour two decades of light, culture and community at St Fagans with our most vibrant Mela yet. Whether you’re coming for the food, the music, or just to soak up the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.
What to expect:
• Live music and dance performances from diverse traditions, filling the site with rhythm, energy, and joy.
• Laughter Yoga in the Atrium for you to take a deep breath and laugh your way to relaxation in these fun and restorative sessions.
• The venue will be decorated with Indian artifacts, textiles and Rangoli art.
• A marketplace offering a feast of authentic Indian street food, sweet treats, and crafts.
• Free arts and crafts activities for children, families, and young people.
• A Saree-Draping station for you to explore the beauty and drape of traditional Indian clothing guided by volunteers.
