Event:Summer of Fun - National Waterfront Museum
Come over and visit the museum this Summer and take part in some of the workshops and performances we have on offer as part of the Summer of Fun Festival. This festival has been organised as part of the Summer of Fun initiative which is funded by the Welsh Government.
XL Big Build Challenge
28 July – 1 Sept (Each Thursday during the summer) 12.30 – 3.30pm
Calling all budding engineers! Use your design and building skills to complete the XLWales challenges. Each of the challenges will use the construction kit K’NEX. Get your thinking hats on!!

Fly your Flag
9–10 & 13–14 & 23-24 August 2022, 12.30pm- 3.30pm
Did you know that every pirate crew had their own unique flag? What would yours look like? Join us to design and create your very own flag to showcase your personality.

Barti Ddu - Pirate Show
20 August 2022, 1-3pm
Be wowed by the drama of the high seas. Use your imagination as you hear about the exploits and daring raids of one of Wales’s most famous and notorious pirates - Barti Ddu. Bilingual. Age 6 +

Printing Press - Postcards
27–28 August 2022, 12.30pm - 3.30pm
Before the invention of the printing press, all text had to be written by hand...this made it one of the most influential inventions of its time! Have a go at creating your own postcard using our Museum press, and personalise it to send to someone special this summer.

These activities are being organised by Amgueddfa Cymru and the Federation of Welsh Museums & art Galleries as part of the Summer of Fun initiative, which is funded by the Welsh Government.

Opening Hours
From Monday 4 November until Friday 22 February 2025, we will be open 10am – 4pm every day.
Christmas and New Year: Closed 24-26 December and 1 January.
Parking
The National Waterfront Museum does not have a dedicated car park.
However, there are several pay and display car parks situated just a short walk from the Museum. You can find more information on car parking facilities here

Accessibility

Eat, Drink, Shop
- Our café is open, but providing a limited offer.
- The Museum shop will be open during your visit.
- You are welcome to bring a picnic , while there’s nowhere to eat these within the museum, there are benches around the marina outside which make for a nice spot.
