We are super excited to welcome mural and graffiti artist Karim Kamil (@skateranddecorator) to lead these special half term workshops.

Karim is the talent behind the amazing recent re-design of the container in the Museum GRAFT garden.
 
Here’s what to expect!
  • An introduction into the history of graffiti / street Art
  • Basic techniques on how to draw graffiti lettering and how to use spray-paint, with different techniques when using a spray-can.
  • Taking inspiration from the garden for your designs, there will be a drawing session on paper o sketch a graffiti piece in preparation for painting.
  • Then put on safety gear (masks and gloves) go outside and begin spray painting!  This will be a collaborative piece on big boards in the garden.
  • And finish off with a tag/stencil to take home.
 
Important things to note:
Age - This workshop is for Age 8+
Adult guardians - must stay in the workshop space for the duration of the workshop
Clothing - Please wear old clothes that you don’t mind if they get paint on them
Duration - This workshop is around 2 hours long
Equipment - Masks and gloves will be provided
Weather - As the spray-painting need to be done outdoors, if the weather is quite bad, this workshop will need to be postponed

Opening Hours

Our opening hours are changing for the winter season.

From Monday 4 November until Friday 22 February 2025, we will be open 10am – 4pm every day.

Parking

The National Waterfront Museum does not have a dedicated car park.

However, there are several pay and display car parks situated just a short walk from the Museum. You can find more information on car parking facilities here

  • Our café is open, but providing a limited offer. 
  • The Museum shop will be open during your visit.
  • You are welcome to bring a picnic , while there’s nowhere to eat these within the museum, there are benches around the marina outside which make for a nice spot.
