The Miners Lamp Collectors Society, Collectors Fair, ‘Little Meet’ comes to Big Pit!
Join us for this free event offering miners lamps swaps & advice along with a talk from Big Pit Curator Ceri Thompson, ‘Miners Lamps – Pegs to Hang a Story’ .
The Miners Collectors Lamp Society, established in 2007, is run as a non-profit making enterprise by dedicated collectors of miners' lamps. The aim is the preservation, for the future, of this part of our amazing coal mining and economic history.
They society hold the annual ‘Big Meet’ in June at Pleasley Colliery, near Mansfield. This is followed by the ‘Little Meet’ in October at a different coal-related location, and we’re delighted to host it at Big Pit this year.
