Dogs

Visiting the museum with your dog? There are plenty of paths for you to discover - from woodland walks to formal gardens.

Here are some things to keep in mind while visiting with your pet:

1) Short leads

You are welcome to explore the museum grounds with your dog on a short lead (not extendable). You may be asked to swap your extendable lead or long line for a short lead at our reception desk.

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

2) Historic Buildings and Galleries

Whilst dogs are welcome to explore the grounds, they can’t be taken into the historic buildings, galleries or cafes (with the exception of assistance dogs).

3) Farm

We have a working farm on site and there are native breeds of sheep and cows roaming our fields. Please keep dogs on a lead at all times.

To protect our sheep, dogs are not allowed in the farmyard at Llwyn yr eos during lambing season (February – April).

4) Pick up after your pet

Please help us keep the museum clean by picking up after your dog. There are dog bins across the site for disposing of waste. We also have pooper scoopers available at the reception desk.

5) Be mindful of others

Lots of people love dogs, but some visitors may be scared of them. Please keep your dogs close and do not let them run up to, or jump on, other visitors.
