Halloween is drawing near, and it’s time to bring your little goblins and ghouls to the Museum for a night of FRIGHT-fully good family fun!

Make your way around the Museum to find our host of ghostly guests. They’re straight out of the weirdest pages of Welsh folklore – will you be brave enough to knock on the doors and see who’s home? 

Each night the Wicker Man will burn. Celebrate as summer turns to winter and make a wish as the sparks fly high!

There’ll be spooky stories from the haunted cottage of Nantwallter and around the witch’s cauldron in Oakdale. 

Drop into our creepy craft workshops for lantern making, potion stirring and more…

Learn about the Wicker Man in the cockpit.

Stop for a snack and a drink on Gwalia Green, where you will find a selection of hot food and drinks.

Bring cash for enjoyment at the fair and the Maker’s Market.

The price of your ticket includes:

• Drop-in workshop activities including:*

     o Lantern Making

     o Potion stirring

     o Creepy craft

     o Mini Wicker Man creation

• Ghost stories 

• Display of over 50 beautifully carved Swedes

• Face painting 

• One ride per child at the fairground (under 18’s only)

• Halloween character walkabouts and performances

• Burning of the Wicker Man at 8:30pm

• Free car parking (after 5pm) 

* Excludes Makers’ Market activities. 

Food and drinks will be available to purchase from the Museum café in the Main Building, on site Fish & Chips shop, and street food area on Gwalia Green.

Accessibility

Only Assistance dogs are permitted on-site for this event.     
Prams and pushchairs are permitted on site but cannot be taken into the historic buildings.

Age guidance

This is a family event, with activities suitable for children 6 - 12 years old. 

Important Information

Parking is very limited at St Fagans, please consider car share.

  • All tickets must be purchased in advance. Spaces are limited and we expect tickets to sell out quickly.

  • The event and its activities are suitable for children aged 6+. All children must be accompanied by an adult, at all times.

  • Infants under 2 years are free please book a free infant’s ticket for each child under 2 years attending. The infants will not be able to participate in craft activities and will not get a free ride / game at the fair.

  • All pushchairs must be left outside the historic buildings.

  • Weather-appropriate clothing should be worn. You will be required to wait outside until doors open at 6pm and you may have to wait outside the buildings for entry to activities and workshops.

  • Your ticket price includes free parking.

  • All tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event.  Please ensure that you are 100% happy with your choices before booking.

  • You will receive an order confirmation at the time of booking.
  • You will receive a pre-event email which will give you access to the Halloween Site Map. Please remember to download and save the map before arriving on site. (We are following sustainability policies by cutting down on printing supplies).

Opening Hours

From 4 November until 28 February 2025, we will be open 10am-4pm every day.

Christmas and New Year: Closed from 2pm on 23 December. Closed 24 - 26 and 1 January. 

Closed 8 January 2025 for staff training. 

Parking

If you are driving to St Fagans, you will have to pay for parking. The cost is £7 per day and can be paid by cash or card. FREE for disabled badge holders and motorbikes. £30 yearly ticket in advance. This charge is for parking only – entry to the Museum remains free.

Eat, drink, shop

  • Our cafes and restaurant will be open during your visit. 
  • The Museum shop will be open during your visit.
  • You are welcome to bring a picnic to the Museum.
