Exhibition:Wales is...for her

St Fagans National Museum of History

The journey of women’s football in Wales hasn’t been easy. From a 50-year ban to lack of funding, its rise in popularity happened against all odds.

Today, the Cymru Women’s team is attracting record crowds, and their recent success has inspired young girls across the country to support and play the game.

This display has been created in partnership with the Welsh Football Collection, Wrexham County Borough Museum and the Football Association of Wales. It includes stories and objects relating to the national team from Amgueddfa Cymru’s collection and the Welsh Football Collection.

Wrexham is set to welcome a new ‘Museum of Two Halves’ in 2026. Consisting of an enhanced museum for Wrexham, alongside a brand-new football museum for Wales.
